Trainings
Build a mixed set, share it, let students solve it, and read results.
What a training is
A training is a puzzle set with shared rules (themes, difficulty, time/error limits, completion mode). It can be solved via a public link without login. This is separate from club homework (assigned to a group and solved inside the student dashboard).
Creating a training
The builder is available in the playground (/playground) and in My trainings (/trainings) when signed in.
- Step 1. Name, goal, description, visibility (private or public).
- Step 2. Task criteria: one or more themes and difficulty groups 1–6; optional required task count per criterion.
- Step 3. Limits: total time, per-task time, max errors per task / total (or unlimited); optional solver name.
- Step 4. Completion: by time, by task count, or adaptive difficulty target.
- Step 5. Get solve link, results link, QR — copy, share, or print.
Difficulty groups
| Group | Level |
|---|---|
| 1 | Beginner (~0–1000) |
| 2 | Amateur (1001–1300) |
| 3 | Intermediate (1301–1600) |
| 4 | Advanced (1601–1900) |
| 5 | Expert (1901–2200) |
| 6 | Master (2201+) |
One training can mix several themes and levels; the system picks positions for you.
Goals and modes
- Time — session runs until the total time limit ends.
- Task count — reach the target number of solved tasks.
- Adaptive difficulty — move toward a target difficulty.
- Accuracy is controlled by per-task and/or total error caps.
Sharing with students
- Solve link: /training/{id}/solve
- Results link: /training/{id}/results/{results_hash} — for the owner (or anyone who has the secret hash).
- QR codes work well for in-person lessons.
Guest-created trainings: keep the results link. Without results_hash you lose stats access (hash is stored in the browser and on the builder success step).
Solving a training
- Open the solve link.
- Enter a name if required.
- Solve on the board; time and errors follow the training rules.
- See the session summary at the end.
Login is optional for linked trainings. Signed-in users usually get their username prefilled.
Viewing results
- Open the results link (with results_hash) or stats from My trainings / playground.
- Review sessions: who solved, task counts, errors, time.
A solve link alone does not grant the author’s full statistics. Session management is owner-only.
Where to find your trainings
- Guest: playground — links saved in the browser.
- Signed in: My trainings and playground; public trainings appear in the catalog search.
