Privacy Policy
ChessTask (chesstask.org) · how we handle personal data
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the ChessTask service at https://chesstask.org (“we”, “Provider”) processes personal data when you use the website and related features. The Russian-language service at chesstask.ru may be described in a separate policy on that site.
2. Data we process
We may process: email address and username; service activity (trainings, assignments, club roles); and technical data (IP address, cookies or local storage, browser information) as needed to run and secure the Service.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process data to create and maintain accounts, provide training and club features, communicate about the Service, prevent abuse, and improve the product (including aggregated or anonymized analytics). Where consent is required (for example accepting Terms at signup), we rely on that consent; otherwise we rely on legitimate interests in operating a secure online service, or on contract performance.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use browser local storage for authentication and preferences, and analytics tools (which may include Yandex Metrica) to understand usage. You can limit cookies in your browser; some features may then be unavailable.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery) under contracts that limit use to providing their services, or when required by law.
6. Retention and your choices
We retain account data while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above, or longer if required by law. You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction by contacting us at
7. International users
The Service may be accessed from outside the Russian Federation. By using chesstask.org you understand that processing may involve servers and providers in jurisdictions where data protection rules differ from those in your country.
